We found a series on Nickelodeon Jr. called "Ni hao Kai-lan." My daughter loves it. It's similar to Dora for Spanish. Kai-Lan and her friends use Chinese words and teach you the meaning. The series has great life lessons about sharing, calming down during frustrating times, and celebrating other cultures. The series recently released DVDs you can buy (with four episodes on each DVD). My daughter still knows the words for grandpa, hat, and 1-2-3 which she learned for the first time watching Kai-Lan. Yak Academy is really expanding her vocabulary, but the series is a great way to reinforce at home. And, it's very age appropriate and parent/kid approved.
