Instructors

 

Each of our locations has a unique, dynamic team of instructors and staff.  Together, they provide the foundation of our learning sandbox within Yak Academy's™ world language playground.

 

We understand that effective foreign language learning requires quality interaction among children, parents and teachers. Therefore, our instructors are typically native speakers in their respective languages, and also share a passion for and a dedication to working with children. Their practical lessons actively encourage the continuation of learning outside of the classroom, with easy-to-use materials available for those parents wanting to reinforce learning at home. In addition, they happily share cultural traditions with the children, opening their eyes to new worlds.

Our teachers are trained in and follow Yak Academy's™ teaching methodology, which embraces the way young children learn, tapping into their natural creativity, expressiveness and curiosity through play-based teaching methods. It is designed to stimulate the imagination, inspire self-confidence, encourage communication and enhance problem-solving skills, all within nurturing, non-competitive surroundings. In addition, we work with organizations such as High\Scope (www.highscope.org) to make sure our teachers are aware of the latest thinking in areas such as Adult-Child interaction, Conflict Resolution, Child Assessment and Active Learning.
